Jerome de Sadeleer takes his first victory in the Radical Challenge!
After becoming the Radical SR1 Cup champion in 2017, Jerome de Sadeleer was back on the track this weekend but this time driving a Radical SR3, with which he now takes part in the Radical Challenge. And Jérôme really stood out this weekend, winning the third race!
Taking place only in the United Kingdom, the Radical Challenge offers drivers the chance to race on the most challenging circuits in England.
This weekend, the opening round was held at Donington Park where Jérôme had plenty of support, including his young brother Hugo de Sadeleer, an endurance pilot in the European Le Mans Series. He was also under the watchful eye of his Gentlemen Driver father, Stanislas de Sadeleer.
Newcomer to the series, Jerome de Sadeleer made a strong impression by taking his first victory in the championship!
The first encouraging signs were not long in coming for the Swiss driver. From the first race, Jérôme showed that he could cut the mustard this season by posting the fastest lap (1:07.893) and obtaining a very commendable 5th place.
But it was in the third race that Jérôme was victorious, a goal he hoped to achieve during the season but certainly not so quickly and that should give him great encouragement for the races to come!
At the end of the series, Jérôme told us : « I’m so glad to be on the top step. I came into the weekend not knowing where I’d be. I finished around mid-pack when I did the final race last year, so finishing this race in first place gives me confidence heading to Brands Hatch. »
